Margaret & Mark’s Family Shoot II – {Cambridge Family Photographer}

As some of you may know, I had a pretty fabulous weekend. It was full of shoots and I loved every minute of it. On Sunday, I had two shoots. The first was with repeat clients (love love love) and I was crazy excited to see how much their little one had grown since the last time we had a shoot.

He was so big! It was incredible. So, we just settled in to play with some toys on the carpet and I captured some family snuggles, oh and we read a book. Mmm we also took advantage of some incredible natural light that was streaming in through the front window. It honestly was a really fab way to spend a morning.

One of the coolest parts of my job is that I get to meet such incredible people. I love interacting with people and capturing special moments in their lives. I was so honoured when Margaret and Mark invited me back for a second shoot – it’s really cool to build relationships with clients! Case in point, as I was about to head out, Margaret asked if I would like to stay for some tea (I had another shoot in the morning in Cambridge but not for a little while) so I wouldn’t have to sit in a restaurant by myself. I was so touched at how thoughtful that offer was. So, I settled back in and chatted with Margaret and Mark and watched their little guy play with his some toys. Then, as I was heading out (for reals this time) they pointed out a gift bag on the stairs and said it was for me. When they heard Chris and I were adopting, they wanted to show their support. Inside was an absolutely adorable baby gift. I cried. How incredibly thoughtful was that? Honestly – so so SO touched. I was beaming for the rest of the day.

*sigh* See why I love my job? Yep – I knew you would. Here are some of my faves from the day.

M, M and L – you three are the very best. Thank you for everything. I can’t wait to get through the rest of the photos – your fam is SO cute!. Stay tuned for your online gallery.

Eva and Karl’s Engagement Shoot – {Kitchener Family Photographer}

I would like to introduce you to Eva and Karl and their little guy. I met this couple through RIM a number of months ago and I am currently counting down the days until their wedding in February.

I want to give a shout out to Mother Nature for giving us such stellar conditions lately. I had suggested RIM Park Trails to these two (plus their little one) and they liked the idea of having an outdoor shoot although we did have to decide on a backup date just incase the weather was bad. Winter is a tough cookie when it comes to outdoor shoot because you never know what kind of weather you’re going to be presented with at any given time. We decided to brave the great outdoors and then end the shoot at a coffee pub where we could enjoy a latte and warm up. As it turned out, everything went just as we had hoped.

Here are some of my faves from the day.

Hat head – gotta love it!

Love the expressions on all three of them in this photo.

Thanks you three for the fun morning and also for the chai latte. February is going to be fabulous and I can’t wait to capture all the fun moments. Stay tuned for you online gallery.

Maggie and David’s Family Shoot – {Guelph Family Photographer}

I LOVE older homes and the character they have. I was crazy excited when I pulled up to Maggie’s home yesterday to see it was in an older neighbourhood. I could tell just by looking at the gorgeous outside that it was going to be incredible inside. A fab family + an fab house to shoot in = a happy photographer.

Rewind a little bit because, as it NEARLY turned out, I almost didn’t get to meet up with Maggie and her awesome fam yesterday. Maggie and I accidentally got our wires crossed and she was under the impression that they were making their way to meet me in Waterloo and I was under the impression that I was shooting at their home. Lucky for us, all those wires got uncrossed before either of us headed out and missed one another!

Anyway, I made it to the house and was welcomed warmly by not only the fam but also from the resident fur friend, Rocky – an adorable Corgi. LOVELOVELOVE. Timing worked out well as Maggie and David’s two kids, Garth and Meg were heading back to school and work today so we were able to snap some fun memories before that.

AND, the weather cooperated wonderfully and we got to shoot outdoors and not freeze our noses off. Bonus!

Here are some of my faves from the day.

I love this photo.

Maggie, David, Meg and Garth (and Rocky), thanks for making some time for me to swing by. I had a blast getting to know you all! Stay tuned for your online gallery.

Greig Family Christmas – {Cambridge Family Photographer}

Big family get togethers make me happy.  It’s so easy to get caught up in how busy our lives get – I think pretty much everyone is guilty of that at one time or another. I know I am! That’s one of the reasons I love Christmas so much; it gives us all a chance to spend time with the people who mean the most to us. It also gives us a chance to be grateful for those people and what they bring to our lives.

I would like to introduce you to the Greig family. Lauren might look a little familiar to you if you follow the blog. She was one of the beautiful  bridesmaids in Susie and Adam’s wedding that we shot back in October. She contacted me a little while ago with the hopes of being able to do a family photoshoot – something that her mom, Carol, had wanted to do for awhile. Christmas time was the perfect opportunity to organize this because the whole fam was together – which is a tough feat!

I love love LOVE this fam. The way Lauren and her sisters are with one another reminds me of how I am with my brothers. Everyone as a whole was so happy to be with one another too – it was pretty special. The house was full of laughter and fun. It was a pretty great way to spend an evening!

Anyway, enough from me – here are some of my faves from the day.

Lauren, it was great seeing you again and meeting your awesome fam. I hope you all have a wonderful 2012. Stay tuned for your online gallery.

Christine & Dave’s Family Shoot – {Cambridge Family Photographer}

A quick blog for a last minute shoot yesterday. Christine and Dave might look familiar to you if you follow LMP and our blog. I last met with them in April right before I jetted off to Paris with my mom. At that time, Christine was very pregnant. I believe she was due the next day! Their little fella was pretty excited about being a big brother.

Fast forward to yesterday and their little guy is now officially a big brother to a little girlie who has Disney-esque eyes. There must be something in the water because I keep meeting these babies with gorgeous  bright peepers and long eye lashes. I’m loving it! Christine was hoping to get some photos before Christmas and with only a little time left, I headed out to their beautiful home in Cambridge to catch up.

I told Dave that he and Christine make some cute kids – he agreed whole heartedly. Here are some of my faves from the day.

I hope the 4 of you have a very Merry Christmas! Stay tuned for your online gallery!

Ashley and Blake’s Family Shoot – {Kitchener Family Photographer}

It’s official – I am baby crazy. As I was uploading photos from my latest shoot Chris and I were both ‘ooohing’ and ‘aaaahing’ at just how cute one of my latest models was. Literally everything this child did was adorable. She was also one of the most easy going babies I have ever worked with. What a treat!

This little girlie and I are related… in some sort of cousin-ish way. She is my great uncle’s son’s daughter’s daughter. So.. I need to ask my mom (who is the go to person for pretty much anything family related.. and geography related.. and cooking related.. and advice related.. hahaha – pretty much everything) what kind of cousin that makes us.

I digress – I was thrilled when Ashley (the mom of the adorable baby you are about to lay your eyes on) connected with me to see if we could arrange a family shoot to celebrate Christmas as well as her daughter being 6 months old. I met up with them at Ashley and her husband Blake’s home where they were hosting Ashley’s sister, Jessica, their mom and Dad, Sigrid and Stu and Ashley’s grandparents (from two different sides), Ruth and Ed. That means we had 4 generations of family in one room – pretty amazing.

We had planned to take some pictures outside as well but we had to cut that short as it was incredibly chilly. We did get one or two so you’re going to get to see a cute little girlie in a cute little snowsuit.

Here are some of my faves from the day.

Ashley, it was great seeing you and catching up with your family. I had such a great time getting to know you and your little girl better. Have a Merry Christmas! Stay tuned for your online gallery.

Debbie’s ‘Puppy’ Shoot – {Kitchener Pet Photographer}

I love manimals with all my heart. If it weren’t for Chris and his pesky habit of being both responsible and logical, our house would be filled to the brim with wagging tails, fluffly bodies and non-stop purring. So when I heard from Debbie telling me she wanted to do a shoot to celebrate her pup’s first bday, I decided it would be a blast to live vicariously through another person and enjoy a pet by association!

Okay.. So.. Sasha.. She might be a pup still, but she was ANYTHING but small. This American Mastiff was a whopping 160lbs and just graduated from the nick name, “Little Tank” to just plain, “Tank”.  She was pretty excited to be in a new place with her best friend on a chilly Saturday morning.

We strolled through Bechtel Park and MAN was it ever cold. At least it was sunny and we had some trees to shield us from some of the wind. Debbie has obviously done a lot of work with Sasha because she was such a good listener and a really well behaved fur child. She enjoyed chewing on some sticks and running towards her mom and eating snow. She did not enjoy SITTING in the snow though!

We finished off the shoot at the off leash dog park where Sasha had a bit of a run around even though she was pretty low on gas. Overall, it was a fun way to spend a morning!

Here are some of my faves.

Debbie, it was a pleasure meeting you and your furry girl. Stay tuned for your online gallery!

Melanie and Andy’s Baby Shoot – {Alma Baby Photographer}

I don’t like not being up to date with everything. I fret a lot when I have things that need to be done. Since getting back from Mexico, we’ve been sick and tired and swamped. However,  a lot has to do with attitude. Yesterday, Chris kept telling me he wasn’t sick anymore. He just decided he was okay. He showered, shaved, got out of his jammie jams and we went grocery shopping. Realistically, he is still under the weather (we both are) but the point is, we’ve decided that we’re going to be positive and we’ll feel better from that type of attitude alone!

What better way to make you feel better than to ‘ooh’ and ‘ahh’ adoringly at a new born baby? I met up with Andy and Melanie (and their new addition) right before we left for our trip to do a family shoot. Melanie and Andy might look familiar if you follow my blog because we did a baby bump shoot a couple of months ago. And now, they have another reason for a shoot!

 I headed out to their GORGEOUS home in Alma to meet their son. *sigh* – it should be illegal to be as cute as he is. We found lots of fun opportunities for neat photos at M & A’s house and I most definitely had a lot of fun. Melanie had some hats and diaper covers that she made herself, which made for some really meaningful photos.

Enough from me – here are the photos!

Andy, Melanie and E, you three make one cute family. Stay tuned for your online gallery.

Cathy and Karen’s Family Shoot – {Cambridge Family Photographer}

GREETINGS! I am back from Mexico where it was warm and balmy and sunny and over all pretty much a slice of Heaven. We had an amazing time and even though it’s been a week since our return, it’s still taking some time to get back into the swing of things!

So, to help us get back to our regularly scheduled program, here is a shoot that I hope will make you smile.

Karen, Cathy and their girlies might look a little familiar. We did a shoot a few months ago but LOTS has changed since then. They’ve moved to a new house in a new neighbourhood and even MORE exciting than that is their youngest has learned how to walk! When I met them last time, C & K’s oldest was a sweetheart. She was a dream client – lots of smiles and such a fab listener. She came through for me again and was a star. When I first met C & K’s youngest daughter, she gave me ONE smile the whole shoot and even that was a bit of a stretch. This time, I walked in the door and was greeted with a big, ‘HI!’ and lots of smiles. And, MAN, this kid can move! She was booting it all over the front room for the whole shoot. She had lots of places to go and people to see.

I am such a fan of this family. I can’t say enough great things about the girls. Karen and Cathy – you two are wonderful as well. It was nice catching up and seeing how your fam has changed in just a few sort months.

Here are some of my faves from the day.

Hope you enjoyed the sneak peek. I was killing myself going through all the photos. Karen and Cathy – thanks for taking some time out of your aftie to share with me. Stay tuned for your online gallery.
